About

OpenWeb's goal is to improve online conversation. They work with publishers and brands to grow direct audience relationships through comment sections and community features.

More than 1,000 publishers meant the technical problem was genuinely hard. Each one with its own tech stack, brand requirements, integration preferences. The SDKs had to absorb that diversity without turning every deployment into a bespoke project. A major news network and a niche vertical publisher both had to get what they needed, without compromise.

Applift has been a pivotal partner in OpenWeb’s continued growth journey. Alon and Nogah took full ownership of our Mobile SDK platforms for over a year. Then, when our internal Mobile team grew, they collaborate with them and keep the good work.

Three Platforms, One Standard

iOS and Android came first; React Native joined the scope in late 2025. Applift's engineers are embedded in OpenWeb's mobile group and maintain all three SDKs. Shared review practices and consistent standards keep the work coherent across separate codebases.

A full CI release pipeline publishes tagged, verified builds to the package managers publishers integrate with - CocoaPods and SPM for iOS, Maven for Android, and NPM for React Native.

The Timeline

  1. 2021

Partnership launched - full SDK ownership

Partnered with OpenWeb and assumed full ownership of their iOS and Android SDKs, establishing a dedicated mobile development track from day one.

  2. 2022

OpenWeb builds an internal mobile team

OpenWeb recruited their own in-house mobile team - starting with a mobile architect and growing to four additional members. Our team collaborates closely with this team, jointly driving the development of iOS SDK v2.

  3. 2025

React Native SDK - zero to production

When the need arose for a React Native SDK wrapping both native SDKs, our team drove the initiative end-to-end and shipped it to production in just five months.

  4. 2026+

    Ongoing roadmap partnership

Continuing the collaboration with a focus on iOS and React Native SDK roadmap delivery, feature development, and long-term platform evolution.

An Ongoing Partnership

We're part of OpenWeb's mobile team - not a vendor on a scope, but partners who own and evolve three production SDKs alongside their in-house engineers.

They’re reliable, trustworthy and were always there when we needed them.
