About
RiseUp is a financial wellness platform that helps people take control of their money through a community-driven approach, originally built for the web. They came to us in 2022 when their users were shifting to mobile and they needed a long-term engineering partner to lead their mobile department.
They didn't just write code. They shaped the architecture, refined features, and ensured best practices, always bringing a thoughtful and proactive approach. Their seamless collaboration and dedication made them an essential part of our journey.

Built a Flutter application for RiseUp's long-standing Israeli users and implemented localized in-app purchases alongside the expanded internal team.
Building the Platform
The UK build was the one we'd been setting ourselves up to make from day one: dense flows, heavy animation work, screen transitions that don't survive a cross-platform wrapper. SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose gave our engineers room to do the detail work, the micro-interactions, easing curves, and state transitions, at the level the product needed. Then, with the UK live and the internal team established, we turned to Israel: a Flutter application for users who had been on the web product for years and asking for an app for most of it, with localized in-app purchase flows. The team that had just shipped two native apps stepped into a cross-platform build without losing a beat, because they'd already lived on both sides.
Building the Team
We embedded a squad of senior mobile engineers directly inside RiseUp, operating as an extension of their product team rather than an outside shop delivering tickets. While the builds were in progress, we ran technical recruiting and onboarding for RiseUp's internal mobile group in parallel. New hires came into a codebase that already had standards and conventions. Architectural decisions got shared in real time instead of inherited from a doc. The team and the platform matured together, which is the only way a handoff actually works later.
The Outcome
The project resulted in successful applications across two markets and a fully functional internal mobile team. By combining architecture, shipping, and recruiting into a single workflow, we ensured the long-term sustainability of the platform.
